A Review on Fingerprint Image Compression

Fingerprint compression is essential to store more number of fingerprints in the digital storage media as well as transfer from one place to another using network faster. This paper deals with various compression techniques such as JPEG, wavelet, SPHIT, modified SPHIT, EZW and edge detection methods for fingerprint image.
